Expert FacilitationLed by Barry Green, world class jazz pianist and jazz piano educator with over twenty years of experience. You will be joined by his Rotterdam rhythm section with Ruud Voesten on drums and Stefan Lievestro on double bass.

Group session with Barry working on a selection of subjects such as voicings, jazz vocabulary, developing your time/feel, approaching and learning tunes, how to practice and technique specific to jazz piano

Joined by Stefan Lievestro (bass) and Ruud Voesten (drums).
Everyone will have the chance to rehearse and work on a tune or two with this amazing rhythm section.
Focussing on how to interact within a trio, how to pace and frame a performance and how to spontaneously create an arrangement.

Where everyone will have the chance to perform a 10/15 set in the trio format worked on during the day.
Day TwoAdding a Player
Today we reflect on last night’s performances, continue expanding our skills and are adding a horn player to the band.

Continuation of the group class. Discussing the performances of night before, what went well and areas of focus that need further development.

We will be joined by a horn player and everyone will have the chance to play in a quartet setting. We will focus on comping and on how to play rubato with a horn player.

We do not provide accommodation though might be able to recommend somewhere local if needed.

€250 will get you two days worth of teaching divided in to two sessions each day; one lecture style, one masterclass/reherearsal setting. You will get the chance to play with the rhythm section in a concert on Thursday night and have free entry to the tutor concert on the Friday evening. Tea, coffee and water are provided during the day. Food is not included but there are lots of options nearby for every budget. We are currently looking into providing a lunch and dinner option at a low additional cost.
